Veterans History Project
Library of Congress

The Veterans History Project of the American Folklife Center collects, preserves, and makes accessible the personal accounts of American war veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war.

We worked with the Library of Congress to establish the project identity. A collection kit was then developed which included an informational brochure, guidelines for interviewing veterans, and best practices for archiving.
